Goldendale to Dunnellon Boat Ramp 1-28-2012
It was a chilly morning with fog over the river. We launched at Goldendale Boat Ramp and leisurely paddled up to the Dunnellon Public Boat Launch. Some of us paddled and one peddled. We had our break there and some ate the lunch they brought some just had a snack.
On our trip down the river we spotted a variety of beautiful birds, a turtle and a sun bathing alligator. As the day warmed the water lily opened to display their beauty. Along the river some paddlers thought we were playing bumper boats.
I took the time to enjoy the breaths of fresh air, the fragrances of the plants and water. I was aware that I was traveling a path that many people will never have the opportunity to experience.
We returned to the Goldendale Boat Ramp where most of the paddlers parted ways. Three of us had lunch at the Double D Restaurant in Dunnellon. The food was great. Fred Groschopp was the TC for this trip.
I hope that we will see the rest of you out on the river real soon. Happy paddling.
