2009 Poker Run Summary
For those of you who missed it, The Poker Run was again a huge success, and this year was exceptional !! The turnout was incredible, with over 240 registered paddlers and over 30 kids! This far exceeded our expectations and was a record turn out for the event. Our volunteers had their hands full! The paddlers were all patient, the weather was with us, and everyone seemed to be enjoying a fun day on the river!
That many participants also meant we were able to give record sized cash prizes as well as a record contribution to the Ocala Outdoor Adventure Camp. The young lady who took the first place cash prize was quite excited and happy to find that her four 5's were the winning hand. Four other lesser cash prizes and many, many, other donated prizes and gift certificates were awarded to hands all the way down to a pair of sevens.
Another young lady, Morgan Conley who was not at the Poker Run, was in disbelief when notified her name was chosen as the winner of the Delta 12 ft 10 in kayak the Marion County Aquaholics Paddling Group gave away in a drawing at the end of the day. The Williston resident took delivery of her prize the following Saturday.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the participation of the many volunteers. Thank you for your efforts and giving up your time!
Individual and business donors are who made the day rewarding for the lucky players by supplying ALL of the non-cash prizes given away! I would like to thank every donor publicly and encourage each of you to use their services and businesses whenever possible.

plates of pulled pork sandwiches, complete with chips and drinks. Thank you for your services too!
